Kaasboerderij de Deelen is located between the Frisian villages of Aldeboarn and Tijnje, in the north of the Netherlands. The cheese farm borders a unique nature reserve: De Deelen. Hence the name of the company.
De Deelen is a beautiful low moor nature reserve. At Kaasboerderij de Deelen they are very proud and thrifty in this area. They do that in many ways. In this way they ensure that the meadow birds have a good place on the land. They do this, among other things, by taking into account grazing, sloping banks, herbaceous grassland and mosaic management. Why? Because if the De Deelen nature reserve is doing well, the cheeses will also be doing well.
The farm cheeses are made from fresh milk from their own cows. And that can be tasted. It is cheese as it should be: ultimate creamy and deliciously full of flavour. Kaasboerij de Deelen has a wide range of homemade farmhouse cheeses, including the locally famous Riperkrite Tsiis: a cheese prepared with a blend of celery, chives and garlic.
